Hello! Hope you all are having a great week so far. I got back from a girls weekend in Chicago late Sunday night, so I’m still dragging a little bit from that today. The trip was totally worth any tiredness though. I had forgotten how much I truly love Chicago. My mom, aunt and I have been taking annual [sometimes semi-annual] trips to the windy city since I was in high school, and I have so many great memories from our numerous adventures. I always look forward to our time together exploring the city!

Grapevine Lake – Grapevine, Texas
Hello! Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend so far. It has been beautiful here in Texas – sunny and 73 degrees today! Not quite like the January’s I am used to, but if I can’t have snow, this is next best for sure. James and I got to get out and do a little bit of hiking/walking around Grapevine Lake this morning, which was really fun! Grapevine Lake is really beautiful, and is actually really close to our apartment – bonus!

14 Goals for 2014
Hello! How was your Christmas? Mine was full of family, friends, snow, sledding down sand dunes, cross country skiing in the woods, downhill skiing down the mountains of Michigan, cooking, great food, cuddling with the animals, and lots of warmth and love. Such a wonderful long weekend, full of many memories I will hold on to for years to come. My heart is full, and my soul is content.

Merry Christmas!
Hello! Hope you all are having a wonderful week so far, and are enjoying time with your families and friends during this Christmas season. With all the craziness and business that comes along with the season, it’s important to take a step back and remember the real reason that we celebrate – the birth of Jesus.
If Jesus hadn’t come to Earth on Christmas all those years ago, our lives would look a lot different today than they do now. Thanks to Jesus, we don’t have to live in our sin, but can have the hope and promise of eternal life with him in heaven. What better Christmas gift could we ever ask for?
I always love reading the Christmas story this time of year, so I thought I would share it with you share it with you right here on the blog. This version is from the book of Luke, and is definitely my favorite. So, with that said, please read, and remember the real reason for the season – Jesus!

A Thankful Thanksgiving
Hello! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great long weekend. Mine was wonderful – got to spend some quality time with the family in Florida – my only complaint is that it went by all too quickly! But I suppose that is how vacations tend to go.
Thankful Thursday!
Happy Thankful Thursday!
Hope you all are having a wonderful week so far. Can’t believe it’s already Thursday again! Anyways, I’ll just get right down to it – here are the top five things I am thankful for this week – feel free to add your thankfuls in the comments below 🙂
5. So, I’m totally aware that I’ve been saying this almost EVERY week since the middle of October, but I’m so very thankful for cooler weather! This morning when I walked out of my apartment, it was 40 degrees – and I was just giddy with excitement. Cool weather makes me feel alive. Just wished that it snowed more frequently here – I am itching for a good ski weekend. Hopefully we’ll get a trip to New Mexico in later this winter.

A Fun-filled Fall Weekend!
Hello! Hope you all had a great weekend, and are having an excellent Monday so far! Our weekend was SO good. My mom flew into Dallas for the weekend to visit, and we had such an amazing time catching up on some long overdue mother-daughter time.
We started the weekend with a brisk walk at White Rock Lake in Dallas. The weather was absolutely perfect – 60 degrees, breezy and sunny – a perfect fall day.
Mitten Love.
Hello! It’s been a little while since my last post…James and I were on vacation in Michigan for the beginning of last week, and then in Indiana for the last part for my brother-in-law’s wedding. We had such a great time visiting and building memories with both of our families/extended families – it was definitely difficult to leave. It’s always hard for me to leave family though, no matter how long I’ve been away. This week flew by for some reason [probably because I am a little bit sleep deprived from vacation – I have this tendency to get up early and stay up late – I guess I just don’t want to miss anything!] and I can’t believe it is already the weekend again. No complaints here though☺
Seeing as I just got back from the mitten [Michigan] and I actually took some pictures this time, I thought I would share a few of them here on the blog with you. So, without further ado, enjoy some pictures of my favorite place in the world [Lake Michigan] and some other pretty cool places as well…

What I’ve Learned From Two Years of Marriage.
Hello! Hope you all are having a great weekend so far! It looks like it’s going to be another hot one around here, so I foresee some quality pool time in our near future. Anyways, this past week was James and I’s 2nd wedding anniversary! I seriously can’t believe it’s already been two years – time really does fly by, and so much has happened. We’ve had lots of adventures together during the past two years, and I am looking forward to many more years of adventures to come. I’m so blessed to be married to my best friend, greatest supporter, and loving husband. The past two years have been the best years of my life!
Our anniversary was actually on Tuesday, but we celebrated last night with a delicious sushi dinner, and then some amazing cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory! I’m still feeling stuffed:)
While celebrating our anniversary, I couldn’t help but think about all the things that have happened to us over the past two years. We’ve both changed jobs a few times, lived in three different states, traveled to some really cool places, learned how to budget and manage our money in good times and in bad, tried lots of new and exciting [scary] things, and I, at least, have been pushed completely outside my comfort zone. It’s been a crazy, yet wonderful ride so far, and as I think about the past and the future to come, there are some things that I’ve learned, and want to remember…

Happy Father’s Day!
Hello and happy Sunday! Hope you all are having a great day/weekend so far. Ours has been pretty low-key – just running errands and getting things done around the house. Last night we went and saw the new Superman movie, and I thought it was pretty good! I won’t say too much just in case you haven’t seen it yet, but the action was pretty intense, and overall I really enjoyed it. Go see it!
Apparently yesterday was by blog-anniversary [I had kinda forgot about it, but thankfully Facebook reminded me that this time last year I started by new blog…not really sure how Facebook knew that, but oh well]. So, a big thank you to everyone who has read my little blog at some time or another in the past year! I really appreciate your support, and I look forward to improving on what’s been started over the coming year. Thanks again:)
