Hello! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and are enjoying this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Well, it’s beautiful here in Dallas at least – about 70 degrees and sunny – doesn’t get much more perfect than that! I am a little jealous of the fall colors Michigan is currently experiencing though…
Anyways, yesterday James and I went with some friends to the Texas State Fair. I had heard many good things about the fair, especially in regards to the copious amounts and wide variety of fried foods. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Completely lived up to my expectations.
Among other things, we tried fried green tomatoes, fried spinach dip balls [both of which were devoured too quickly to snap a picture – I went to take one, and they were gone!]. There were also deep fried ribs and French fries, both of which were quite delicious.
It helped that it was a beautiful day outside too!
Of course we had to go see Big Tex.
And the Ferris Wheel. We really were going to ride it, but the line was so incredibly long, we decided to skip it.
And instead indulged in some deep fried Oreos! I just had to try them.
We also made a trip to the barns and saw all kinds of animals, including some sad looking sheep and, of course, Tex’s Pride…
And the Grand Champion Steer.
All in all it was a great trip to the Texas State Fair. My only regret is not riding the Ferris Wheel, but the deep fried Oreos more than made up for it.
Today, we got our traditional fall pumpkin…
…and we even got one for Samson ☺
Anyways, hope you all are having a great, relaxing end to your weekend! See y’all tomorrow!
