Good Morning! How is your Monday going so far? Mine has been going well—I have the day off work, but lots and lots of errands and things around the house to get done today. Fighting hard to be productive, if you know what I mean:)
Anyways, I thought I would share a Psalm that I read this morning. It was written by David during a difficult season of his life, and his words really stuck out to me this morning…
“How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrows in my heart? How long will my enemies triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, O Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death; my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.”
Psalms 13.
David went through many trials throughout his life. It must have been difficult at times for him to trust that God really did have a specific plan and purpose for his life. How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
Sometimes when we pray and believe for something to happen, and it doesn’t, we are tempted to give up on God and on his plans for our lives. We can be so quick to lose our faith sometimes, when really all we need to do is trust in God’s faithfulness towards us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. The things he has promised us will always come to pass—it may just not be in the time frame we had originally planned on.
Just as David trusted God’s faithfulness, no matter how long he had to wait for him to speak, we too need to be patient and diligent in our faith. Has God been speaking to you about something in your life, but it just hasn’t come to pass yet? Is there something you’ve been diligently praying for that hasn’t been answered? Don’t give up! Be patient. God’s timing is perfect, and he always fulfills his promises to us.
Well, I hope you all have a great rest of your Monday! God Bless:)
