Hello Friends, hope you are having a great Wednesday so far. I’m dragging a bit from staying up late to watch the election, and definitely disappointed in the results. I don’t want this to turn in to a political rant, but needless to say, I am disappointed. However, I know I don’t need to be afraid, because ultimately God is in control, and he makes all things work together for our good. HE is the true king, and always will be—no matter who may sit in the president’s seat. I opened my Bible this morning hoping for some encouragement, and was led to this scripture…
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they know me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
John 10:27-30
No matter what evil we may face in our world [and country] today, as Christians we can be sure that nothing can snatch us from God’s hand. He is the one who has ultimate control, and he holds us [and the world] in the palm of his hands. Things may be spinning out of control, but we can rest assured that no matter who may be the president of the United States, God holds the ultimate authority; and ultimately, his will is going to be done. We don’t need to be afraid of what the near future holds. Trust in God—he is the only one who will never lie to you, nor will he ever lead you astray.
As we move forward, remember to pray for the president. He may not be the one you voted for, but he still needs our prayers—more than ever before.

Thanks for the encouragement. I needed the reminder that God is in control even when outcomes aren’t what we want i.e. the election. Also, the reminder to pray for the President. I confess that i have complained more than prayed for him in the past and will try to do better.

I agree–definitely have done my share of complaining. I am really going to make a point from now on especially to pray for all of our government leaders.
