“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” – Proverbs 14:23
Well this was an unexpected kick-in-the-pants. When I opened my Bible this morning, I was not expecting such a relevant piece of wisdom to come flying off the page, landing in the deep areas of my heart.
In other words, you can talk about something as much as you want, but until you start working hard towards that certain something, you’re not going to accomplish much. Hard work equals profit, while mere talk leads to poverty. It’s a fairly simple concept, yet one that is so much harder to implement in our daily lives.
How many great ideas have you let pass right on by? How many times have you talked about doing something, only to end up giving up before you even began? We can’t live on just talk – we have to back up that talk with action.
But how do we do that?
By turning our good ideas into actionable, attainable tasks.
When we do this – break down a thought into a manageable goal – we are setting ourselves up to succeed. And with a lot of hard work to back up our goals, there is no end to what we might be able to accomplish!
What are some thoughts that you need to turn into actions today?
