This past weekend was awesome. The weather was great, and I got to spend some quality time with the hubby:) We work together during the week so we get to see each other a lot, but sometimes its hard to separate “work life” from “regular life”. It’s nice (and important) to have days where we can just hang out and not think about work.
Probably weeds…but I thought they were pretty:) |
beautiful old barn…I love the country, Makes me miss my horse… |

More (probable) weeds. |
A little bit of water…better than nothing…but definitely no Lake Michigan. |
the hubby went for a walk with me:) |

The walk was beautiful and relaxing. While I was walking, and beginning to feel very relaxed, I thought about how God emphasizes rest in the Bible. It’s important to Him, and it is important for us. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Sometimes at the end of a long week, I feel tired. When things feel out of my control I get stressed and begin to feel burdened. Know what I mean?
The good news…we don’t have to feel this way! Jesus tells us to bring our burdens to HIM and HE will give us rest. I know this may seem easier said than done. I’ll be the first to admit that I tend to hold on to those burdens and stresses much longer than I need to. But, when we are able to give those burdens and stresses to God, then we will find true peace and rest.
What about you? Are there any stresses or burdens in your life that are keeping you from finding true rest and peace in Jesus?
Hope you are having a great week so far!
